End-of-career employment from age 55 for warehouse workers (PC 143)
Good news for warehouse workers under PC 143: thanks to a new collective labor agreement, access to end-of-career employment with benefits is temporarily eased.
For the period from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027, the age limit is lowered to 55 for employees with a long career or who perform a physically demanding job.
Specifically, this means that workers can reduce their working time:
- either to a part-time position, or
- by 1/5,
while still being eligible for benefits, provided they meet the applicable career conditions.
Who is eligible?
Employees must be able to demonstrate, when applying, that they:
- have at least 35 years of professional experience as a salaried employee,
- or can prove a sufficiently long period in a physically demanding job,
- or have a long career under specific employment schemes.
For employees with a non-standard work schedule (for example, not spread over five days), adapted options are provided to take career reduction in an equivalent way.
