Ergonomic scan
Ergonomic scan: Working towards a healthy and efficient workplace
An ergonomic scan helps to optimise workstations and working conditions and reduce risks. The process consists of three steps:
1. Preparation
The ergonomist gathers information in advance about workstations, tasks, the working environment and employees.
2. Visit
During a company visit, the ergonomist analyses tasks, working methods, equipment and the working environment. Measurements and interviews with employees provide both objective data and personal experiences. The day ends with a debriefing and initial recommendations.
3. Report
The report contains an overview of risks, a plan with quick improvements (“Quick Wins”) and measures on a human, technical and organisational level. A long-term vision can also be added.
