Guarantee and Social Fund for Sea Fishing
Welcome to the Guarantee and Social Fund for Sea Fisheries, the partner for employees and employers in the warehouse and fish auction sector.
What does the WSFZ do?
The Guarantee and Social Fund for Sea Fisheries (WSFZ) is the official Income Security Fund for companies operating in the subsectors of the Belgian sea fisheries industry, specifically :
- Coastal fish auctions (NSSO-code 186)
- Warehousing and storage facilities (NSSO-code 086)
WSFZ is responsible for organising the payment of supplementary social benefits and launching initiatives to promote vocational training for workers (M/F/X) employed in Flemisch fish auctions and warehouses.
Our mission
We aim to promote sustainable employment in the sector by providing strong support in:
- Vocational training for new entrants .
- Ongoing professional development for current employees
In addition, the Fund also finances various additional social benefits, including:
- sectoral supplementary pension
- trade union premium
- supplementary unemployment benefit in the event of temporary unemployment
- Childcare premium
- Supplementary end-of-year bonus

Who are we?
The WSFZ is managed on a joint basis. With representatives from both employers and employees serving on the Board of Directors, which oversees the Fund's operations.
The fund is supported by Els Igodt,our dedicated secretarial assistant, who serves as main contact person and handles all practrical arrangements.
